COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Drs. Tania and Nicholas Doblanko are proud to sponsor the Fort Saskatchewan Minor Hockey Association and were the Platinum Sponsor for the U11AA Rangers team in 2022/2023. In recent years, our doctors have also made charitable contributions to KidSport, the Shannon Kimmitt Memorial, the Bread and Putter Tournament (in support of the Canadian Cancer Society), the Fort Saskatchewan Food Bank, and the Fort Saskatchewan Families First Society.

Each Christmas season, our team has an internal “Annual Season of Giving,” where each team member votes and donates to a collective cause. For the past few years, our selected causes have included WIN House (2019), Fort Saskatchewan Families First Society (2020 & 2021), a cash donation to a patient whose house was damaged in a fire (2022), and The Bridge Wellness Hub for Youth (2023).

Our doctors and team are also passionate about helping local students cultivate a love for learning about science and dentistry. Continuing the long tradition of the Urban Centre Dental Scholarship at St. André Bessette and Fort Saskatchewan High School, we proudly present a monetary award to the graduating student with the highest grade in science each year. If the winner is a patient of ours, our doctors personally congratulate them on their success during their next visit and talk to them about their future goals.

For interested high school and university students, we also offer shadowing opportunities for dentistry, hygiene, and dental assisting. We’ve also helped support Fort Saskatchewan dental assisting students from NAIT and KDM Colleges by providing placements at our clinic for their final semester of school, which is a requirement for their graduation. Cultivating and fostering “real life” learning experiences is one of Urban Centre Dental’s passions, and our team is dedicated to doing all we can to help young learners succeed!
